BOARD OF DIRECTORS’ MEETINGS 2019
The first Board of Directors’ meeting of 2019 was held on Monday 25 March 2019 at The Royal Selangor Golf Club, Kuala Lumpur.
The date of this meeting was particularly auspicious as it marked the 90th anniversary of the birth of our venerable and much loved Founder and first Chairman, Yang Amat Berbahagia Tun Dato’ Seri Hj Abdul Hamid bin Hj Omar.
Himself an excellent golfer, the late Tun was a familiar personage at the Royal Selangor Golf Club and was the Club Captain and then President, for several years.
Incidentally, 24 March 2019, the day prior to the meeting, marked the 6th anniversary of the passing of past Director, Yang Berbahagia Tan Sri Dato’ Dr Hj Abdul Majid bin Ismail, who was also a keen golfer and an almost permanent fixture at the Club for close to 50 years.
May both arwah Tun and arwah Tan Sri be at peace. Al Fatihah.

Allahyarham Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Lamin bin Hj. Mohd. Yunus was appointed a Director of Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid on 16 December 2006.
Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Hj. Lamin received his education from High School Klang, Selangor, High School Bukit Mertajam, Penang and Anglo-Chinese Boys’ School, Penang.
Tan Sri then went on to obtain an LLB (Hons) from the University of Singapore in 1963 and a few years later, a post graduate Diploma in Socio-Legal Studies from the University College of Wales, U.K.
After a long and illustrious career with the Malaysian Judicial & Legal Service, Tan Sri retired as the first President of the Court of Appeal in 2001.
Tan Sri also had the rare honour of being elected by the 59th session of the United Nations General Assembly as an ad litem Judge of the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Republic of Yugoslavia, based in The Hague between 2005-2009.
Arwah Tan Sri Lamin was a humble gentleman of the Old School, who took his duties as a Director of the Yayasan very seriously.
As a signatory, together with the Chairman, in accounting matters of the Yayasan, arwah Tan Sri was known to handwrite his comments and views, sign and seal the documents in an envelope, carefully write out the address and place a stamp on top, and then drive personally to the postbox a short distance from his house and put it in the postbox.
It would have been all too easy for arwah Tan Sri to instruct his PA to do the needful but arwah’s meticulousness and dedication to the task at hand meant he simply had to do it himself. We miss you, Tan Sri, and your services to the Yayasan will always be cherished.
Arwah Tan Sri Lamin passed away on 9th July 2015 (25 Syawal 1436).
May Allah SWT in His Infinite Mercy, place Allahyarham Tan Sri Datuk Hj. Lamin bin Hj. Mohd. Yunus among the souls of the righteous. Al Fatihah.
