HARI BAHTERA YTAH

HARI BAHTERA YTAH

Friends Of The Yayasan, including Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid scholar, Wan Nur Shazwani binti Makhtar, spent much of their day on Wednesday 4th July 2012 (14 Syaaban 1433) visiting charity homes and needy individuals to present various essential items like rice, milk powder, multivitamins, diapers, toiletries and clothes.

Known as ‘Hari Bahtera Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid’, ‘Bahtera’ is Malay for Noah’s Ark and the word, ‘Ark’ in English in this instance is taken as an acronym for ‘Acts of Random Kindness’.

Among the charity homes visited was Kompleks Baitul Hidayah in Puchong, which has 37 children clustered in two modest homes, including children with conditions such as dyslexia, ADD (attention deficit disorder) and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder).

Another port of call for the Friends of the Yayasan was Kompleks Anak Yatim Darul Kifayah in Gombak which had requested for sponsorship for their ‘Majlis Jalinan Mesra dan Anugerah Anakku Cemerlang’ to be held at their premises during the weekend of 7th – 8th July 2012.

The Yayasan’s own sponsored children Siti Maisarah, Halimatul Sa’adiah, Siti Nur Fatihah and Muhammad Irfan Fakhrullah were naturally not forgotten and greatly appreciated the large supply of stationery materials and multivitamins specially selected for them by Kak Shazwani.

Prior to Hari Bahtera YTAH, Director Puan Ellina binti Abdul Majid had made courtesy calls to several charitable organisations to introduce the humanitarian objectives of the Yayasan and to ascertain the possible ways in which the Yayasan could contribute to the organisations. The organisations visited included Madrasah Tahfizul Quran Darul Furqan, Rumah Anak Yatim Darul Izzah in Bangi, Rumah Amal Belaian Kasih in Hulu Kelang, Maahad Tahfiz Baitul Ummah in Setapak and Rumah Kanak-Kanak Tengku Budriah in Cheras.
