IIUM NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN ISLAM
YAYASAN TUN ABDUL HAMID was very pleased and privileged to provide sponsorship of RM2500.00 towards the printing of conference materials for the NATIONAL CONFERENCE ON HUMAN RIGHTS IN ISLAM : ISSUES AND CHALLENGES organised by the Contemporary Fiqh Research Unit, Kuliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in collaboration with the Department of Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh, Kuliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) and Persatuan Ulama’ Malaysia (PUM) on 12-13 November 2013.

The Conference, held at the Banquet Hall, IIUM Gombak campus, was officiated by an official representative of the Minister of Education II, YB Dato’ Seri Idris bin Jusoh. The keynote address was delivered by Y. Bhg. Tan Sri Hasmy Agam, Chairman of SUHAKAM. Speeches were also delivered by the Rector of IIUM, Y. Bhg. Prof. Dato’ Sri Dr. Zaleha bt Kamarudin, and the Dean of the Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge & Human Sciences of IIUM, Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Mohamed Zein.
Special mention must also be made of the co-ordinator of the conference, Y. Bhg. Emeritus Prof. Dato’ Paduka Dr. Mahmood Zuhdi Ab. Majid and the Chairperson of the conference, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mek Wok Mahmud for their efforts in bringing together an impressive gathering of scholars and intellectuals.
