BRINGING A SMILE TO NEEDY CHILDREN
A rare free afternoon on 22nd January 2013 for YTAH Director, Puan Ellina binti Abdul Majid, saw her busy filling up the boot of her trusty Ford Hurricane with clothes, books and toys to be donated to the Lighthouse Children Welfare Home at Bukit Pantai, Kuala Lumpur.
The Home, which is run by Mr. & Mrs. Steven, provides a loving, pleasant, family orientated environment for children from difficult and impoverished backgrounds. Ranging in age between 3 -18 years old, some of the children are home-schooled by the Stevens’ eldest daughter herself, as they have never been to school before and would not be able to cope with the normal government school curriculum. There are 37 children altogether, housed in two homes, one at Bukit Pantai and the other at Bangsar.
