FRIENDS OF YTAH VISIT BAITUL HIDAYAH

Friends of Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid commemorated Hari Bahtera this year with a special visit to the children of Baitul Hidayah in Puchong, Selangor on Sunday 23rd June 2013 (14 Syaaban 1434H).

Led by Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid scholar, Cik Wan Nur Shazwani binti Makhtar, the Friends came laden with the children’s favourite nutritious snacks and drinks as well as a monetary donation towards the completion of the construction of the Baitul’s new premises approximately 5km from the present premises.

Baitul Hidayah is home to more than 40 children, all of whom are from extremely challenging backgrounds, including poverty, abandonment, being orphaned at a young age and psychological impairment. The extremely sparse furnishings and limited space is almost heartrending to see. However, the affection and care showered on the children by their carers, as evident by the children’s innocent exuberance and harmonious interaction among themselves, is a joy to behold.

While the new premises promises to be more spacious, funds were available only for the ground floor to be constructed. And the walls of the kitchen will have to wait a little longer as their budget could only stretch to construct the floor and the roof. The Friends of Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid are humbled to be privileged to contribute towards a portion of the construction of Baitul Hidayah — a modest sum but given with heartfelt sincerity and the hope that it will go some small way towards alleviating the hardships faced by the children of Baitul Hidayah.
