THE PASSING OF YTAH DIRECTOR Y. BHG. TAN SRI ABDUL MAJID ISMAIL
It is with profound sorrow that the Chairman & Board of Directors of Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid acknowledges the demise of their fellow Director, Y.Bhg. Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Hj. Abdul Majid bin Ismail on Sunday 24th March 2013 (12 Jamadil Awal 1434 A.H.) at his residence in Kuala Lumpur at the age of 91 years.
Allahyarham Tan Sri had contributed to the cause of the Yayasan his vast experience and involvement in charitable works, and his presence at future Board meetings will indeed be missed.
Among the many relatives and friends who paid their last respects to Allahyarham Tan Sri were our nation’s former Prime Minister, Y. A. Bhg. Tun Abdullah Badawi, our current Prime Minister, Y.A.B. Dato’ Seri Najib Tun Razak, representatives of Yayasan Jantung Malaysia (Allahyarham was the Founder President), representatives of the Malaysian Orthopaedic Association (Allahyarham was the Founder President), representatives of the College of Surgeons Malaysia (Allahyarham was the Founder President) and representatives of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia (Allahyarham was an Honorary Fellow).
Funeral rites at Makam Diraja Selangor
Allahyarham Tan Sri Dato’ Seri Dr. Hj. Abdul Majid bin Ismail was laid to rest before zohor prayers on Monday 25th March 2013 (13 Jamadil Awal 1434) at Makam di Raja Shah Alam, Shah Alam, Selangor Darul Ehsan in the presence of HRH The Sultan of Selangor, DYMM Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, The Menteri Besar Selangor, Y.A.B. Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim, Y.A.Bhg. Tun Ahmad Sarji bin Abdul Hamid (current President of Yayasan Jantung Malaysia and Chairman of Permodalan Nasional Bhd.), our esteemed Yayasan Tun Abdul Hamid Chairman, Encik Azizuddin bin Tun Abdul Hamid, senior members of the Selangor royal family led by HRH Tengku Panglima di Raja Tengku Sulaiman Shah ibni Al Marhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah, Y.A.D. Orang Besar Tengku Seri Wangsa Di Raja Tengku Dato’ Setia Ramli ibni Tengku Shahruddin, Members of the Council of the Royal Court of Selangor and an entourage of Y.A.D. Dato’-Dato’ di Raja Selangor led by Y.A.D. Tan Sri Dato’ Paduka Raja Dato’ Wan Mahmood bin Pawan Teh.
